AbuDhabi IP Award First Edition

In support of intellectual property Protection and development and interest of continuing to provide support to inventors and strategic partners from all governmental and private sectors, Takamul program has organized the Abu Dhabi Awards for Intellectual Property to honor the tangible efforts in the field of technological innovations.
In order to praise the efforts of inventors and actors active in the field of intellectual property protection for their innovative ideas, each of the municipality of Al Ain Region affiliated to the Department of Municipalities and Transport was recognized as the most government agency providing innovations and Khalifa University was recognized as the university with the most registers patents.
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has been recognized as the largest innovation portfolio in the country, Agthia Group was also recognized as the promising innovation portfolio category and the category of most university offering innovations was for Abu Dhabi University and Abu Dhabi Polytechnic.

Additionally, the recognition for the most research center providing innovations was for the Emirates Innovation Center for Communication and Information Technology "EPTEC" and Emirates Global Aluminum Company “EGA”.
Al-Tamimi Law Firm was recognized for their great effort in registering a large number of patents, within the category of “the most registered law firm for patents”.
Among the individual inventors honored were the Emirati inventor Saqr Majid Al-Marri, where he was honored as the first Emirati inventor registered a patent in 1989.

As for the inventors who registered a patent during the past two years within the category of “Emirati inventor registered and granted patents” are Mohammed Al-Khaldi Al-Khaldi, Faisal Khalaf Al-Hosani, Ahmed Farid Al-Darwish, Saqr Majid Al-Marri and Fahd Al-Amri Khalfan Al-Marashda, Muhammad Nasir Sumar and Hamid Saeed Al-Aryani.Amer Saeed Al-Jabri, Mohammed Abdulaziz Al-Mutawa, Mansour Mohammed Al-Malik and Saqr Majid Al-Marri, Sultan Sultan Hamad Al-Azri.
